Deleting your account
There are two ways to delete your Rolls account. If you still have the app, you can delete it from inside the app. If you don't, one email is enough. Either way, what is erased and what is kept are the same.
1. From the app
The person icon in the top bar of the Home screen (far right) → Profile → scroll to the bottom → Delete account → confirm.
Once you confirm, it happens right away. It cannot be undone.
Deletion requires a sign-in within the last five minutes. If you see "Please sign in again, then delete", use Sign out on the same screen, sign back in and tap it once more. This is there so that an account left open in someone else's hands cannot be erased on the spot.
2. Without the app
You can ask us even if you have already removed the app or no longer have the device.
- Write to — nerdens.seong@gmail.com
- Subject — Delete my account
- Body — tell us how you signed up (email, Apple or Google).
- Send it from the address you signed up with. We do not delete an account we cannot match to the person asking; if we can't confirm it from your message, we will write back and ask.
We reply within three business days. Once we have confirmed it is your account we delete it without delay, and never later than 30 days from the request. What we delete on your behalf is exactly what sections 3 and 4 below describe — the same procedure the app follows.
3. What is erased
- The sign-in account itself (email, Apple or Google connection)
- Account details — your account identifier, display name, and the film and vouchers you held
- Rolls you were the only member of, including every frame and photo in them
- The film record — when a roll of film arrived and which roll it became
- Invite codes you created and the referral rewards tied to them
- Reports you filed, and reports filed about your photos
- Support messages you sent and every reply in those threads
4. What is kept
- Photos in a shared roll. A roll filled by more than one person belongs to the others too, so it stays until that roll is deleted. You are only removed from the member list; all the others see is that someone left. If you want the frames you shot gone as well, leave the roll before you delete your account (the scissors icon in the top bar of the roll screen), or ask the remaining member to delete the roll.
- The purchase ledger — account identifier, product and transaction identifiers, and the time of payment. Korean e-commerce law requires us to keep it for five years after you leave, for refunds and to stop the same purchase being granted twice. It holds no payment details: payment is handled by the App Store and Google Play, and card information never reaches us.
- Crash diagnostics — not linked to any account, so they are deleted automatically 90 days after collection whether or not you delete your account.
The retention periods and the reasons for them are set out in full in our Privacy Policy.
